JUEGOS RANCHEROS PRESENTS: SUPER RUSSIAN ROULETTE
Dust off your spurs and your Zapper, kids–we’re going back to the future with an all-new game for the NES! This Thursday, March 3 at 7:00 PM, mosey on over to the North Door to settle the score with an 8-bit trash-talkin’ cowboy as JUEGOS RANCHEROS presents SUPER RUSSIAN ROULETTE.

Andrew Reitano (NYC) is a hardware hacker, programmer, and game designer who blew us all away last year with his in-progress NES game, Super Russian Roulette. In it, up to three players play Russian Roulette against an on-screen cowboy using the NES Zapper light gun. (Remember Duck Hunt?) Thanks to backers of his ongoing Kickstarter campaign for the project, Super Russian Roulette is now being produced in a limited run of real NES cartridges!
To round out the evening with more retro goodness, JUEGOS RANCHEROS’s resident 8-bit gamemaker Rachel Weil will be showing off her most recent NES game: Electronic Sweet-N-Fun Fortune Teller. What’s your BFF really thinking? Who has a crush on you? Let this cute NES game take a shot at the answers!
And finally, JUEGOS RANCHEROS is pleased to announce the official launch party of its experimental arcade on Friday, March 4, in collaboration with the Museum of Human Acheivement. Reitano will join us with Super Russian Roulette and some of his original Sega Genesis projection art! RSVP for the party here!
Super Russian Roulette and Electronic Sweet-N-Fun Fortune Teller will be playable Thursday, March 3, at 7:00PM at North Door, 501 Brushy Street, Austin, TX 78702. The show is free, all ages, and open to all the public, so come join us as we drink, play, and meet the people changing the way we think about games!
JUEGOS RANCHEROS PRESENTS: THEWAVE

JUEGOS RANCHEROS PRESENTS: MULTIPLAYER ARCADE
For the November edition of JUEGOS RANCHEROS, we’re bringing back some of our favorite crowd-pleasing multiplayer games that aren’t widely available elsewhere. Join us this Thursday, November 6th, at 7:00 PM at Austin’s North Door for a special encore showing of Tenya Wanya Teens and Musclecat Showdown.

Tenya Wanya Teens is a cute, crazy, thirty-two button multiplayer party game from Keita Takahashi, perhaps best known for his Namco cult classic Katamari Damacy and the even cultier PS3/iPhone game Noby Noby Boy. Tenya Wanya Teens, co-produced by Takahashi’s studio Uvula as well as Wild Rumpus and Venus Patrol, returns to Austin after making several other choice appearances, including its most recent showing at XOXO, Portland’s indie art and technology festival.
Musclecat Showdown is a game from Major Bueno & Bee and Puppycat creator Natasha Allegri that we first premiered at Juegos Rancheros in March. It’s received such wide acclaim and wide grins from players alike that we had to bring it back to the North Door for a second showing. The goal of Musclecat Showdown? To settle a schoolyard rivalry by battling your handsome, beefed-up cats in a stylish pose-off, of course!
Both games will be set up and ready to play on Thursday, November 6, at 7:00PM at North Door, 501 Brushy Street, Austin, TX 78702! The show is free and open to all the public, so come join us as we drink, play and meet the people changing the way we think about games!

We’ll be showing off-
The Yawhg is a one- to four-player choose-your-own-adventure game that randomizes a unique story every time you play. The evil Yawhg is returning. How will the town’s locals lead their lives in the meanwhile, and what will they do when the dreaded Yawhg finally arrives? The fate of a community hinges on the characters’ actions, and the decisions of their players.
Starwhal (Breakfall)
STARWHAL: Just the Tip is a multiplayer game of floppy mayhem. Use all your space narwhal skills to pierce other players’ hearts while keeping yours safe! A quick review session of this game turned into one of the most heated and fun local multiplayer sessions we have had in a while, and we know that Juegos regulars will love playing this game.
The Banner Saga: Chapter One (Stoic Studio)
The epic single-player campaign mode that fans have been waiting for since last year’s peek at the multiplayer beta, Banner Saga: Chapter One is Role-playing meets turn-based strategy, wrapped into an adventure mini-series about vikings. Created by an Austin studio, Banner Saga is filled with some of the most achingly beautiful art and animation to ever be in a game.
MirrorMoon EP: (Santa Ragione)
This trippy, radically expanded return to Santa Ragione’s short-play game MirrorMoon is as beautiful as it is head-scratchingly compelling in the way its intricate puzzles unfold. We’re hoping that you guys can help us figure out all of its mysteries!
Those games and much more will be kicking off Thursday, Sept 5st, at 7:00PM at North Door, 501 Brushy Street, Austin, TX 78702! The show is free and open to all the public — come drink, play, and meet the people changing the way you think about videogames!
